The PJD St John Origin Standard is an offset electric guitar from the PJD Origin Series, designed to provide a dual-pickup configuration and expanded tonal range within the Origin platform.
The guitar features a solid mahogany body with a gloss poly finish. This construction delivers a balanced tonal response with a strong midrange character and consistent sustain, aligned with the core materials used across the Origin range.
The neck is constructed from maple and paired with a rosewood fingerboard. It follows the PJD Standard neck profile and uses a 10″ (254mm) radius, supporting a consistent and modern playing surface across all positions. The instrument is fitted with 22 medium frets.
The St John Origin Standard is equipped with a dual pickup configuration consisting of a PJD Origin Alnico V P90 in the neck position and a PJD Origin Alnico V humbucker in the bridge position. This layout provides a wider tonal range, with pickup selection controlled via a three-way toggle switch.
Hardware includes a fixed hardtail bridge and a standard control layout of master volume and tone. The instrument is supplied with a padded PJD gig bag.
Also available in Midnight Black, 3 Tone Sunburst, or Pelham Blue
The St John Origin Standard combines two distinct pickup types, with a P90 in the neck position and a humbucker in the bridge position.
The neck P90 is designed to provide a clear and articulate response, while the bridge humbucker delivers a higher output signal suited to driven tones. The three-way toggle switch allows selection of each pickup individually or both together.
This configuration provides access to a broader tonal range compared to single-pickup designs, while maintaining a simplified and practical control layout.
