PJD St John Origin Pro – Charcoal Burst
The PJD St John Origin Pro is a UK-designed, Indonesian-built offset electric guitar, forming part of PJD’s Origin Series. The range is designed to deliver the core construction, materials, and tonal characteristics of PJD’s UK-built instruments in a more accessible format.
The St John features a solid mahogany body with a cream-bound figured maple veneer top. This construction provides a strong midrange response with added clarity and articulation from the maple layer. The satin poly finish includes an open grain back, maintaining a consistent feel while allowing the natural wood character to remain visible.
The neck is constructed from roasted maple and paired with an Indian rosewood fingerboard. It uses a PJD Standard neck profile, with a 25.5″ (648mm) scale length and a 10″ radius. The guitar is fitted with 22 medium frets and a bone nut.
The St John Origin Pro is equipped with a pair of PJD Origin humbuckers, designed using Alnico V magnets and enamel-coated wire. The bridge pickup is voiced with medium output to balance clean headroom and driven tones, while the neck pickup operates within a lower-output, vintage PAF-style range suited to clean and lower gain applications.
Hardware includes a fixed hardtail bridge and locking tuners, supporting tuning stability and straightforward setup. The control layout consists of a master volume, master tone, and a three-way toggle switch.

The bridge pickup is wound for medium output, providing a balance between clean tones and higher gain response. The neck pickup is voiced within a vintage PAF-style output range, supporting clean articulation and lower-gain applications.
