The PJD Origin Apprentice is a premium entry-level boutique electric guitar, combining modern playability, professional tone, and exceptional build quality. Ideal for serious beginners and advancing players who want a high-quality electric guitar from day one.
The PJD Carey Origin Apprentice is a UK-designed, Indonesian-built single-cut electric guitar, developed as part of the PJD Origin Series. The Apprentice model is designed as a simplified platform, focusing on core construction, reduced electronics, and a single-pickup configuration.
The guitar features a solid mahogany body with a satin open grain poly finish. This construction provides a lightweight and resonant foundation, while the open-pore finish maintains a consistent feel and allows the natural grain of the timber to remain visible.
The neck is constructed from maple and paired with a rosewood fingerboard. It follows the PJD Standard neck profile and uses a 10″ (254mm) radius, supporting a consistent playing surface across all positions. The instrument is fitted with 22 medium frets.
The Carey Origin Apprentice is equipped with a single PJD-designed Alnico V humbucker in the bridge position. This simplified configuration removes pickup switching and focuses on a direct signal path, controlled via a master volume and tone layout.
Hardware includes a fixed hardtail bridge with a string-through body design, supporting tuning stability and sustain. The guitar is fitted with vintage-style non-locking tuners.
Each instrument is designed in the UK and manufactured in Indonesia as part of the Origin Series, with final setup and quality control carried out to maintain consistency across the range.
Also available in Cream Soda, or Nato Olive
